SON OF DELBERT
About Son of Delbert

I've used the name Son of Delbert for about 10 years now for various musical and artistic productions. My father's name is, indeed, Delbert, which means "tiller of the soil". So essentially my band name means "son of a farmer", a tribute to both my songwriting, bullshitting, musically skilled father and my prairie roots. I've been playing guitar since I was about 13 years old, and singing nearly as long. I've been a singer, songwriter, and musician in several bands dating back to the 90's, including Saskatoon bands Paint Box, and Sensamillia, and East Kootenay projects Poor Louis, Gerth, MOOS, The Orrgazmix, and Rhino Halo. Son of Delbert has been largely a solo musical enterprise, where many of my songs have been recorded on home computers using digital drum software. The last 2 CD's I've recorded have included various guest musicians as I strive to create a less ambient, experimental and more live-band sound. I've just begun forming a band around my new CD, The Sun is Going Downstairs (Dec. 2011).
